2.5D action RPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising launches this May

505 Games and Rabbit & Bear Studios announced today on Twitter that Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising will launch on May 10.

The side-scrolling action RPG will also serve as a prequel to the upcoming Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. After a devastating earthquake reveals Runebarrows underneath a town called New Nevaeh, adventurers embark in hopes of fortune. Among the treasure seekers are CJ, the Venerable Scavenger and Garoo, the Beastman Mercenary. As the two aim towards mining the Rune Lens to obtain hidden magic, however, the Young Deputy Mayor Isha fights to rebuild her town.

Throughout the game, you’ll need to master each player’s combat to scavenge dungeons and defeat a series of imaginative bosses. In addition, the benefits you unlock in Rising will transfer to Hundred Heroes when it launches. Along with cosmetic items, crossover items also include valuable equipment and trade goods. Additionally, the names you give certain weapons and items will carry over to next year’s title.

In addition to side-scrolling RPG action, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising also features town-building elements. As you trek the dungeons of the Runebarrow, you’ll acquire necessary items needed to reconstruct the fallen town. Eiyuden Chronicle rises this May

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising releases on May 10 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC for $14.99. In addition, it will be available day one via Xbox Game Pass for PC and console.

Then, in 2023, the mainline RPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes launches. Acting as a spiritual successor to 1995’s RPG Suikoden, the game tells the story of a globe-spanning adventure of war, power and magic.
