‘A Day at the Beach’ is a new expansion for Kung Fury: Street Rage

Kick some Nazi butt as David Hasselhoff!

Hello There Games and Aurora Punks announced a new expansion for Kung Fury: Street Rage on November 13.

The new expansion, titled A Day at the Beach, introduces the legendary David Hasselhoff as a playable character. Players can control The Hoff and fight Nazis alongside Kung Fury in the brand new Co-op mode. In addition, the expansion introduces brand new stages.

A Day at the Beach also implements technical updates. The expansion allows players free side-scrolling movement akin to classic beat ’em up controls. In addition, Hasselhoff comes with his own unique move set, including a special ultimate attack.

The developers state that the massive expansion for Kung Fury: Street Rage is close to being an entirely new game. That’s because in addition to adding a new character, Co-op mode and updated movement, A Day at the Beach also introduces a new campaign. Oskar Eklund, the CEO of Hello There Games, explains the massive scope of the expansion.

This release is close to a full new game. With so many new features I think it’s fair to say that Christmas came early this year

About Kung Fury: Street Rage

Kung Fury: Street Rage is a 2D brawler inspired by the cheesy cult-classic movie Kung Fury. Just like the movie, the game became popular largely in part to its retro aesthetic. In addition, it implements arcade-style action as players punch Nazis across a variety of unique stages.

The game originally launched on Steam in 2015. It was both developed and published by Hello There Games. Kung Fury: Street Rage also received a free expansion, titled The Arcade Strikes Back. The expansion added voice acting from the original Kung Fury movie cast.

According to the game’s Creative Director Annette Nielsen, fans of the game clamored for updated movement, Co-op gameplay and David Hasselhoff since the game’s release.

Since the original release, three features have been on the top of our players’ wishlist; Fully free classic brawler movement, Co-op and making Hasselhoff a playable hero. We’re extremely happy and proud to be able to deliver all of these, and more

Kung Fury: Street Rage is available on Steam now for $6.99. The new expansion, A Day at the Beach, is also available now for $5.99. In addition, you can purchase the Deluxe Beach Bundle, which contains the base game and both expansions, for $11.99.
