A new Ecco the Dolphin tribute album has been released

We’ve been anxiously awaiting any news to Ed Annunziata’s unofficial Ecco the Dolphin sequel, Big Blue, for quite some time. Sadly, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting it anytime soon, so if you’re like us, you’ll take any new Ecco the Dolphin content to hold you over.

Thankfully, a new three-disc, 39-track Ecco the Dolphin tribute album, called SOUND WAVES, has just been released, and the best part is it’s absolutely free.

“Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the entire series, or you only played for five minutes on your friend’s SEGA Channel before quitting in a fit of rage, Ecco the Dolphin made a distinct impression on gamers across the globe with its unexpected, immersive, and haunting world of marine exploration, aliens, and time travel,” said the album’s producer Ian Luckey. “Once Colleen and I began thinking about how we wanted to follow-up our last compilation, Super VG Christmas Party, the unique ambiance of these soundtracks came to mind almost immediately.”

About 140 musicians contributed their talents to make SOUND WAVES a reality.

“The massive group of diversely talented musicians that have stepped forward to join us in paying tribute to these great aquatic themes is both overwhelming and deeply appreciated,” Luckey said. “I encourage you all to check out the eight original soundtracks, as well as support the other works of the various bands and artists featured on this album. Thanks so much for listening!”

You can listen and download SOUND WAVES here.
