For the past couple of weeks, there have been ongoing rumors of Sonic remasters, remakes, comic books, and everything in between. For Sonic’s 30th anniversary, SEGA wanted to go all out. Because they had so many things to show us, the blue brand scheduled a livestream event to showcase all of their upcoming projects.
Many fans crossed their fingers and toes for a brand new Sonic the Hedgehog game. Everyone here at Mega Visions speculated what a new game might look like. Is it Sonic Adventure 3? Sonic Forces 2? Sonic 4 and Knuckles featuring Dante from Devil May Cry?
During today’s livestream, SEGA finally gave us an answer… sort of. Following a flurry of announcements, ranging from new mobile game updates, to cameos in Olympic games and hospitals, a 24 second teaser showed us… something.
In the trailer, we get a closeup shot of our favorite hedgehog’s shoes, who later speeds through a forest. While he dashes around the trees, he forms a mysterious symbol. The symbol evolves into some kind of logo, followed by the year: 2022.
According to the trailer, this new title will be available for PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox One, Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
