AEW: Fight Forever slams out on June 29
AEW: Fight Forever powerslams into your home next month!
Earlier today, All Elite Wrestling revealed its debut game AEW: Fight Forever will hit the mat on June 29.
After years of anticipation and uncertainty, the team behind the game now feel confident for it to hit the shelves. In the new trailer, AEW EVP and former World Champion Kenny Omega discusses how developer Yuke’s is finally ready to release the game. You can watch the official announcement below.
The trailer also shows off additional gameplay featuring Omega as he takes on the likes of Jon Moxley, “Hangman” Adam Page and Adam Cole. The footage highlights the title’s arcade alternative approach to WWE’s simulation style gameplay. With over-the-top character models and animations, AEW: Fight Forever looks to take wrestling games to their arcade-style roots.
We wanted to develop an arcade experience that was fun, easy to pick up and play, but difficult to master.

About AEW: Fight Forever
AEW first announced it would develop a video game when the very first teaser trailer dropped in November, 2020. The game aims to capture the heart and soul of wrestling titles from yesteryear featuring arcade-style gameplay and graphics akin to Nintendo 64’s WWF: No Mercy. And from the cartoonish character models to the whacky minigames, AEW’s debut game appears to do just that.
Players will also be able to compete in nine unique match types that range from your standard singles and tag-team matches to the infamous Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match. Also featured is the Casino Battle Royale. The rules involve 21 entrants in an every-man-for-himself competition, where wrestlers are eliminated by getting sent over the top rope with both feet hitting the floor.
The new game will also feature a deep career mode similar to N64 wrestling games as well. The mode will take place across an event schedule where you will feature in a series of matches and stories. The mode will also feature a skill-based progression system where you’ll earn points through winning matches and completing special objectives. You can then use these points as currency to improve your wrestler’s attributes across various areas.
In addition, players can enjoy an intuitive creation suite with tons of options to explore. These include:
- Custom wrestler attires and appearances
- Original move sets
- Entrances
- Tag-Teams
- Arenas
It also featured prominently during last year’s Gamescom event. The impressively fun gameplay of Fight Forever received massive praise, even netting the title “Best Sports Game” at the event. Now, we’ll soon be able to jump into the ring for ourselves.
AEW: Fight Forever is developed by Yuke’s and published by THQ Nordic. The game will release worldwide on June 29 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. You can also pre-order the game on the official website.
