Alien: Isolation could see sales boost thanks to Dragon Age: Inquisition’s delay

Dragon Age: Inquisition’s executive producer Mark Darrah had the unenviable task with letting the gaming community know the game would be delayed from its announced Oct. 7 release date to Nov. 18 in North America and Nov. 21 in Europe.

The Creative Assembly’s Alien: Isolation will be released Oct. 7, so that’s one huge competitor the game will no longer have to worry about when it releases.

Of course, that doesn’t mean Alien: Isolation will be without competition. NBA 2K15 and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor will release alongside Alien: Isolation, and Batman: Arkham Knight will release the following week.

SEGA will surely have its hands full convincing gamers to forego these other titles and purchase Alien: Isolation instead, but not having to worry about a big-budget EA franchise like Dragon Age certainly doesn’t hurt.
