Alien: Isolation is launching onto mobile devices in December

SEGA and Feral Interactive are bringing the modern classic sci-fi horror title Alien: Isolation to mobile devices next month. iOS and Android players can jump into the game when the ports arrive on Dec. 16.

Feral Interactive previously ported the game, developed by Creative Assembly, to Linux, OS X, and Nintendo Switch. Now, it’s letting users dive into this terrifying science fiction adventure right on their phones. The port includes new features designed to tailor the game for mobile devices and also comes bundled with all DLC released for the game.

Everything we know about Alien: Isolation on mobile devices

For these mobile ports, Feral Interactive has tweaked Alien: Isolation with new features to make the integration onto mobile platforms smoother. Touchscreen support as well as a fully customizable interface allow players to make the experience as comfortable as possible for them. The port also supports gamepads if you don’t want to use the touchscreen controls.

It’s those last two words that might raise some eyebrows. Accordingly, it seems almost impossible that Alien: Isolation could run on mobile devices without some kind of compromise. Feral Interactive has done an excellent job with porting the game so far, but getting it to play well on mobile is a whole different beast. Yet it seems that SEGA and Feral Interactive are promising the moon. We can only hope they’ll be able to deliver.

Alien: Isolation will blast off on iOS and Android on Dec. 16 for $14.99 USD. Furthermore, iOS users can pre-order the game via the App Store now.
