Arcade shooter After Wave: Downfall fires out next week!
Enjoy some fast-paced arcade action by yourself or with a friend!
Yesterday, independent developer and publisher 7 Raven Studios announced its next game After Wave: Downfall will launch next week.
In After Wave: Downfall, you enter a world invaded by the monster Deathrix, who flooded the Earth using a mysterious meteorite. As a result, the arcade-style shooter sees players take charge of a battleship to complete a series of missions in a war against monsters. To get a better introduction on what this game has in store, you can also watch the official trailer below.
As you can see from the trailer, After Wave: Downfall features a gorgeous presentation with 3D cartoon-style graphics and cool effects. As you play through the game, you will experience 10, unique stages, each with its own distinct feel. In addition, you’ll encounter interesting bosses who each have a distinct look and challenge they bring you in battle.
Another cool feature of the game is the six unique characters and accompanying battleships to choose from. Each character has their own unique ship that matches their aesthetic and personality. However, it’s not just the cosmetics that are unique. Each of the six battleships also feature unique abilities that influence how they play. You can also enjoy rewarding progression with your ship as you upgrade its parts throughout the game.
In addition, the game also lets you enjoy the ride with a friend as well. Featuring local cooperative play, this title may be the new couch co-op game you’ve been looking for. Plus, it even offers an extra mode to allow you to enjoy the game in multiple ways.
After Wave: Downfall will launch across three days next week for its respective platforms. It will first hit Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on August 3, followed by Nintendo Switch on August 4. Finally, it launches for PlayStation 4 and 5 on August 5. You can pre-order the game now for Nintendo Switch and Xbox platforms.
