Banish those bad dreams with a snoozeless Buster Sword alarm clock
If Daylight Savings Time is still messing with your schedule and you’re singing “wake me up before you go-go” every morning, we may have a fix for you. Square Enix has created a Buster Sword alarm clock for the rabid Final Fantasy fans.
This specific version of the Buster Sword is fashioned after the FFVII Remake. Cloud’s iconic weapon is finely detailed as a miniature replica, complete with materia that lights up and changes colors near the hilt. Digital numbers glow from inside the blade, but you’ll have to tip your head to see it properly. Additionally, the alarm has five of the games songs to pick from. Check it out:
- Main Theme of FFVII — Sector 7 Undercity
- Let the Battles Begin! — A Merc’s Job
- The Airbuster (Remix of the original boss battle music)
- Aerith’s Theme — Home Again
- One-Winged Angel — Rebirth
And of course, each one is a banger, even though the speakers are a bit mediocre.
Unfortunately, as amazing as it all sounds, (or doesn’t?) there are a few things you should know before you rush out and order a Buster Sword alarm clock. For one, the price tag is a bit steep. Coming in at $199.99 USD, you should begin saving up your gil.
Secondly, and probably most importantly, the clock appears to only show military time, and is missing the snooze button. So, if you’re okay with getting up as soon as One-Winged Angel starts playing, it’s all good. If not, you might want to set a second alarm.
Anticipated release date is set for January 2023. When you’re ready to throw caution into the wind, preorders are open now. One final word of awareness: beware of scalpers.
