Capcom Arcade: 2nd Stadium lineup leaks online
The original Capcom Arcade Stadium made headlines not too long ago for becoming, against all odds, one of Steam’s most-played titles. Millions of accounts were running the game for hours at a time, shooting it up the leaderboard, higher than such hits as Among Us for a while. What was going on? Had gamers as a collective suddenly developed a gnawing hunger for retro compilations? Had the public consciousness finally shifted in favour of 90s gaming sensibilities? Alas, the true explanation was far more mundane.
Arcade Stadium had become inundated with bots, that users had set up to run the game idly so as to rack up virtual points and playing cards – having deemed it an innocuous enough target. Disappointing; but clearly someone at Capcom only saw the numbers, and decided to greenlight a follow-up. Ah, blind confidence.
The sequel, aptly titled Capcom Arcade: 2nd Stadium, is due out soon, and promises a lineup of over 30 classic adventures. Now, courtesy of PushSquare, we have our first gander at what this’ll include, as it’s only gone and leaked via the Microsoft Store. Top security there, lads. Per the report, “all three Darkstalkers games, Hyper Street Fighter 2, Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, and Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix will appear,” to name but a few, as will the trio of Street Fighter Alpha games.
