Officially titled The Cowabunga Collection, the massive Ninja Turtles compilation brings back 13 retro titles. From Turtles in Time to Tournament Fighters, the new collection promises to be the ultimate showcase of Turtles nostalgia. You can watch the official reveal trailer below.
New features for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection
Along with giving players the opportunity to relive these classic games, The Cowabunga Collection also introduces many new awesome features. One great addition is the inclusion of online multiplayer for certain games. As these titles originally released for consoles like Super Nintendo and SEGA Genesis, this marks the first time players can enjoy these classic online. The games featuring online play include:
- TMNT (Arcade)
- Turtles in Time (Arcade)
- The Hyperstone Heist
- Tournament Fighters
Another modern quality of life features is button mapping, allowing players to alter the games’ controls for a better experience. In addition, TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection will also give players the ability to save and rewind their progress at any time.
Turtles fans will also love the collection’s inclusion of development concept art and historic TMNT media content. In addition, the collection will also launch with 11 Japanese regional version releases.
The new collection makes 2022 an even bigger year for TMNT fans. Dotemu and Tribute Games are also currently working on Shredder’s Revenge. The spiritual successor to the classic TMNT games will release this year for PC and Nintendo Switch.
Now, fans can also revisit the retro titles that inspired Dotemu’s upcoming release. Although there is no official release date, Konami plans for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection to launch this year. It will release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
