Codename: Wandering Sword teaser
Play as a young man from Liao City in the Outer Lands who is accidentally involved in a feud between two rival sects and poisoned with the Frozen Toad. He is fortunate enough to have Qingxu, Sect Leader of Wudang, coming to his aid and saving his life. From there, you dream to become a great warrior and enter the stage of the Central Plains.
In Codename: Wandering Sword, players get to explore a huge and lively open world. Explore areas such as the Central Plains, Jiangnan, the Western Regions, Nanjiang, Tianshan Mountain, and more. There will also be plenty of towns, strongholds, secret caves, and more to explore in this pixel RPG. Rendered in Unreal Engine 4, enjoy a combination of the retro pixels of the past and 3D reality.
As you embark on your adventure, collect items and forge powerful weapons. While exploring various marital styles and joining different sects, choose your flavor of combat between traditional turn-based and real-time combat.
Player choices also affect the entire story of the world, resulting in different endings. As you befriend different characters, you may even change their destiny! Befriend characters through sparring, gift-giving, and talking. You can even take them on your adventures with you.
When will it be released?
Unfortunately, there is no official release date set for Codename: Wandering Sword. However, they urge those interested to wishlist it on Steam when it comes out. Personally, I’m quite looking forward to hearing more about this game. I’m a sucker for choice-based games, and the pixel style combined with wuxia elements seems really interesting.
