The lead singer for Crush 40 hinted on Twitter yesterday that the band may have music for the sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog.
Crush 40’s first song for Sonic the Hedgehog came in 1998’s Sonic Adventure. In that game, they produced the track “Open Your Heart.” Since then, they continued to produce songs for the Sonic games. Most recently, they recorded “Green Light Ride” for 2019’s Team Sonic Racing.
Lead singer Johnny Gioeli hinted that the band may now even be involved with Sonic’s film adaptation. Gioeli urged on Twitter for fans to stay tuned regarding the possibility of the band’s involvement on the Sonic sequel. Although this is not a confirmation, the rumor remains promising for fans.
Johnny Gioeli’s Update
Later that day, Gioeli posted an update on the rumor. He wrote, “Hey everyone, as we learn more, you’ll be the first to know!”
It’s unknown what Gioeli meant in this Tweet. However, it seems to imply that Gioeli himself is unsure of the details of the band’s potential involvement. It does seem likely, though, that we are likely to see further posts from the singer.
This rumor is the second in the past few days of musicians returning to make music for the blue blur. Tony Harnell also recently took to social media to tease new music for Sonic. His message was even more cryptic, and it’s unclear whether his potential song is connected to the movie or a new game.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is scheduled to release on April 8, 2022. Since the announcement, fans have been on the edge of their seats for news. Idris Elba recently revealed that he will play Knuckles in the upcoming film. As more news about the film circulates, Mega Visions will keep you updated.
