We are weeks away from the release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles. SEGA is now ramping up promotion for the anime fighter by revealing more content coming to the game. They also have announced a post-launch patch.
First is the good news. A new trailer focusing on the campaign has revealed that the game’s adventure mode will run to the Mugen Train arc in the manga. This arc was also the focus of the recently released movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train. It packs an emotional and tense tale that will lend itself to intense fights in a video game. You can check out the trailer below:
Now for the bad news. SEGA and Cyberconnect2 have also announced that the game will need a post-launch patch to add a performance mode that will allow 60 frames per second to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC versions. This patch will not pertain to cutscenes, only gameplay. Cutscenes will cap at 30 frames per second even with the performance mode. It’s not ideal at launch, but it is great to see that players will receive the upgrade down the line. Any fighter becomes more intense when the frame rate jumps from 30 to 60.
