Demons of Asteborg developer announces two new games
The Asteborg universe is expanding!
Demons of Asteborg developers Neofid Studios announced yesterday on Twitter that they will launch Kickstarter campaigns for two new games.
The campaign for the first game, dubbed Asterbros., begins in March. Asterbros. is a two-player roguelike coming to the SEGA Mega Drive (Genesis) between this year and next year. The campaign will run for 30 days with a 50,000€ goal.
In addition, Neofid Studios will run a Kickstarter campaign for another new title in June. Named Asteborg: Castaway, the developers also describe this as their next “BIG game”. Like Demons of Asteborg, Castaway will also feature stylized metroidvania gameplay. The campaign will run for 60 days with a 150,000€ goal. Neofid plans to release the game for SEGA Mega Drive in addition to current-gen consoles in 2024.
Demons of Asteborg released last year for PC, Nintendo Switch and SEGA Mega Drive. The 16-bit 2D action game follows the hero Gareth as he fights to stop the evil Zadimus from invading the lands of Asteborg. The game received overwhelming support and praise by fans for its fun retro gameplay and style.
Currently, Neofid Studios is still working on fulfilling physical order for the game. However, you can still order copies from their official website. The game is available for Nintendo Switch, PC and SEGA Mega Drive. For Mega Drive, you can purchase a digital ROM or physical cartridge. You can also purchase a special physical copy, complete with a game manual and custom box art.
