Dreamcast shooter Sturmwind EX headed to Nintendo Switch
Despite having a short shelf life, the Dreamcast is perhaps the most beloved console from SEGA’s history. The console birthed a number of critically acclaimed titles and loved titles, including Sonic Adventure, Shenmue, Soul Calibur, Jet Set Radio, and Crazy Taxi, among others. Even after its production stop in 2001, the Dreamcast lived on.
Numerous titles were released for the console after 2001, and one of them was Sturmwind. In 2013, Duranik released Sturmwind for SEGA’s final console, getting high praises for its gameplay. Development for the title started in 1997 and was in limbo until 2013.
Today, Pix’n Love Publishing revealed a physical copy of Sturmwind EX for Nintendo Switch.
Using essential mechanics of the genre, Sturmwind EX follows up from the sheer tradition of shoot’em up games which defined the arcades of yesterday, With its impressive graphics, its upgradable weapons, its imposing gallery of enemies, its gigantic bosses and its scoring system, Duranik and B-Alive’s title rises to the most striking shoot’em ups on Nintendo SwitchTM.
