Critically acclaimed Dreamcast game Sturmwind initially came out in 2013. Since then, it has been re-released and remastered under Sturmwind EX on multiple systems, including for PC, Switch, and Xbox One. Now, the game will be getting a collector’s edition exclusively on Switch.
What is Sturmwind EX?
Sturmwind is a sci-fi shoot ‘em up game. The game has two different modes to choose from: “normal” and “arcade”. With a space fighter craft, players fight an assortment of over a hundred unique enemies across a scrolling background. It contains 16 playable levels on normal mode and 6 on arcade. In normal mode, players can select any stage reached to continue from, but arcade mode doesn’t allow this.
Along with the physical edition of the game, the collectors edition includes:
- A certificate of authenticity numbered at 2000 copies.
- An exclusive steelbook.
- A 32-page « making-of » artbook featuring a brand-new interview of Duranik, the studio which developed the game. (book in English)
- Four lithographs.
- An exclusive cardboard sleeve.

The Sturmwind EX Collector’s Edition currently sells for 59,90 € for Nintendo Switch. Those interested should act quick, as there are only 2000 copies available with a certificate of authenticity.
