Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue has been delayed on consoles until 2022
Firegirl will light up consoles next year!
Firefighter-themed 2.5D platformer Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue won’t come to consoles until 2022. The developers state their intention is to ensure full optimization for the game on other platforms. It still launches for PC on Dec. 14.
Developed by Dejima and published by Thunderful Publishing, Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue is a roguelite platformer with a uniquely charming art style. In the game, you take on the role of a rookie firefighter armed with the essentials: an axe and hose. Each level gives Firegirl only three minutes to save all the people (and cats) trapped inside a burning building. In addition, you’ll have to extinguish a number of fire monsters to buy more time.
The game incorporates unique gameplay mechanics within its genre. For example, the hose, which is primarily used to extinguish fires, doubles as a jetpack that players can use to reach high places. The developers also implemented a feature to control camera movement so that players can not only aim better, but also see what’s above and below them.

Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue arrives on PC on Dec. 14. Originally, it was due out on consoles the same day. However, with the delay, it will launch for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One sometime next year. Aside from the 2022 release window, however, there is no officially confirmed date.
