.hack//G.U. Last Recode coming to Nintendo Switch next year

“The World” returns on Nintendo Switch.

The last game in the .hack series was last remastered four years ago in 2017. Now, bringing back the fourth installment in the series, .hack//G.U. Last Recode, Nintendo announces an official release date for the game’s port on Nintendo Switch.

What is .hack//G.U. Last Recode?

.hack//G.U. Last Recode is a remaster of the original .hack//G.U. The original series consists of three volumes: Rebirth, Reminisce, and Redemption. Combining elements from all previous volumes in the Last Recode installment, the game brought together all of the original storylines as well as a new chapter to the story.

The high-definition remaster takes place in an MMORPG called “The World”, where the player controls characters inside the online game. This particular installment of the series follows a player named Haseo. Haseo hunts down another player, Tri-Edge, who put one of his friends in a coma in the real world. A mysterious organization discovers Haseo, and he joined their ranks to uncover hidden powers. Meanwhile, a computer virus called AIDA threatens to tear apart “The World” during Haseo’s quest.
