Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd tops Japanese sales charts

SEGA’s Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd released on the PlayStation 3 and Vita in Japan last week, and as expected, was a huge seller, selling a combined 158,593 copies.

The Vita version, which topped Media Create’s top 20 sales chart, sold 98,628 copies, knocking Mario Party: Island Tour out of the top spot. The PS3 version secured the third spot with 59,965 copies sold.

Also as expected, it appears that the recently released Hero Bank has continued its lackluster sales, dropping out of the top 20 list altogether this week after only selling about 15,000 copies its first week at retail. Phantasy Star Online 2 Episode 2: Deluxe Package on the Vita also dropped out of the top 20 after it released last week, as well.

Hatsune Miku continues to be a huge seller for SEGA in Japan, with the Yakuza series being the other franchise that usually grabs the top spot in the sales charts when its released. SEGA has recently confirmed Project DIVA F 2nd will see a physical and digital release on PS3 and Vita in the U.S. later this year.
