New video game releases: May 23-29

Hardspace: Shipbreaker, Pac-Man Museum+ and more!

Oh yeah! It’s Monday again, which means it’s time for new games. Whether you’re into stealth shooters, arcade classics or mascot platformers, there are new game releases this week that are made for you. So, let’s not waste anymore time as we dive into this week’s games.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker (May 24)

Hardspace: Shipbreaker

Hardspace: Shipbreaker is a simulation game that places you in the space-suit of a ship salvager in space. Developed by Blackbird Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive, you’ll need to watch out for atmospheric pressure, fire and fuel as you cut through ship materials in an immersive sci-fi world.

As you progress, you can enhance your suit by allowing it to take more damage, improve your thrusters and increase oxygen capacity. You’ll need these upgrades to cut through tougher materials and face deadlier obstacles. In addition, you can track your skills alongside other players through the worldwide leaderboards. You can begin your spaceship salvager career tomorrow on PC.

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds (May 25)

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is an role-playing game that sees you take on the role of a beta tester for a virtual reality game called Soul Drivers. However, inside the simulation, your AI guide breaks the system to warn the player of a fierce battle. As the player seeks help to protect their nameless kingdom and all of Ni no Kuni, they discover that this new world may not be a game at all.

This meta game-within-a-game title first debuted in Japan last year. However, on Wednesday, players from across the globe can get their hands on this charming JRPG. Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds will launch for PC, iOS and Android.

Roller Champions (May 25)

If you love arcade-style sports games, then Roller Champions is for you. This Ubisoft original game combines skating, racing and rugby in addictive 3v3 matches. During games, players must work together to skate around a track, carrying a ball to toss into a goal for points.

Unlike real-life roller derby, Roller Champions features high-velocity and gravity-defying moves, such as skating up and along walls. You can get your hands on this exciting new sports game on Wednesday. Roller Champions will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Sniper Elite 5 (May 26)

Rebellion’s Sniper Elite series is back for a fifth installment later this week. Once again, the bloody stealth shooter sees the player taking control of World War II-era sniper Karl Fairburne as you devastate Nazi forces. This time around, Fairburne’s mission is to disrupt a secret Nazi plot known as Project Kraken that could flip the odds in the Germans’ favor.

If you love some good ol’ WWII games and brutal X-ray finishers, then set your sights on Sniper Elite 5. The fifth entry in the franchise comes to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC this Thursday. In addition, for dedicated soldiers, the pre-order is still available and includes a new chapter in the Target Fuhrer campaign called Wolf Mountain.

Kao the Kangaroo (May 27)

Kao the Kangaroo

The beloved boxing kangaroo from the Dreamcast classic returns this Friday for a brand new adventure. Kao the Kangaroo is a 3D platformer that will take players through beautiful worlds packed with collectible items as the fight their way using Kao’s magic boxing gloves. Throughout the game, you’ll also engage with a fun story, colorful characters and challenging bosses.

Tate Interactive’s fun new reboot comes to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on May 27. You can pick up the PC version through both Steam and Epic Games Store. In addition, you can pick up both physical and digital version of Kao the Kangaroo.

Pac-Man Museum+ (May 27)

Bandai Namco’s timeless icon from the arcade and Atari days of gaming comes back this Friday with a legendary collection. That’s right! You can relive all of your favorite Pac-Man games again in Pac-Man Museum+. Alongside giving fans the chance to replay 14 classic Pac-Man games, this huge collection also features concept art and historical facts about each game.

If you’re a diehard Pac-Man fan, this one’s for you! You can gobble up Pac-Man Museum+ this Friday for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. In addition, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can get their hands on the collection with Day One access.
