Originally released in 2013, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle is the ultimate fighting game for Jojo fans. Taking characters from all eight chapters of the manga and letting them duke it out, it was a PlayStation 3 exclusive for years. But a remaster announced this year, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R, brings it to modern consoles with a slew of new features.
A new trailer revealed a few new details, the most important of which being the release date. All-Star Battle R launches on Sept. 1, 2022 for PC and the following day for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The trailer also revealed four new characters joining the roster, with six others still unknown as of now.

Inside the new characters of All-Star Battle R
Obviously, the release date announcement is exciting enough. But just as interesting is the set of new characters shown off in the trailer. Along with the original roster of 40 fighters, All-Star Battle R will also include ten new characters, four of which were demonstrated in this new video.
The characters include Robert E. O. Speedwagon, ally of Jonathan Joestar and founder of the ever-present Speedwagon Foundation from Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency; Mariah, magnetic femme fatale and user of the Bastet Stand from Stardust Crusaders; Pet Shop, falcon nemesis of Iggy and user of the Horus Stand from Stardust Crusaders; and Diego Brando, antagonistic horse rider and user of the Scary Monsters Stand from Steel Ball Run.
In addition, there will be three editions of the game, with the Standard Digital edition going for $49.99 USD. The Digital Deluxe edition ($69.99 USD) contains the game along with a special animation color set, exclusive costumes for Mohammad Avdol and Rohan Kishibe, and the game’s Season Pass. The Collector’s edition ($69.99 USD; pictured below) includes the game, the animation set, a unique costume for Jolyne, and an alternate color 10 in. figure for Jolyne by Grandista.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It will launch for PC via Steam on Sept. 1, 2022 and for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on Sept. 2. Pre-orders are also available now on the official website for all platforms except Nintendo Switch.
