Justin Wack and the Big Time Hack, quirky puzzler, out in August
Ah, marvelous. Now infamous NES title Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu will never again be alone in its rather niche genre of “games with titles that rhyme while also containing an odd adjective-laden protagonist name and being exactly eight syllables long.” It only took, what, thirty-odd years? Regardless, bonkers-looking 2D point and click adventure Justin Wack and the Big Time Hack has been dated; that date being an August 23rd release. Developed by Warm Kitten (crucially, not a warm kitten), Justin’s adventure was Kickstarted to moderate success and promises dry humour, a warmly familiar artstyle, and robots. Robots up the technological wazoo.
All out of Wack
Per the game’s Steam page – where you can now wishlist it if you’re so inclined – the plot is an interesting one. “Bumming out at work, missing his ex-girlfriend Julia, something strange is going to happen to Justin,” and that something isn’t just binging ice cream and carbs, it turns out. “He is about to switch places in time with a caveman, ” as you do. Meanwhile, Julia has “moved on with her life and is dealing with agents from the future, who have gotten wind of unauthorized time traveling.” Sounds like an absolute laugh a minute.

After enjoying a warm reception to a demo last year, a fair amount of eyes have been on this adventure, which presumably will be, er, wack. And have something to do with a big-time hack. We can only hope this refers to hacking a computer, and not a self-deprecating admission about the lead developer.
