Old school fighting game fans rejoice! King of Fighters XV now has a release date for fans of the SNK fighting series. The new installment will drop on February 17th, 2022! You can check out a new trailer below with the release date and some new details on returning characters and new fighters joining the fray.
It’s awesome to see that 3-on-3 team battles are returning to the series along with a lot of familiar characters. I know everyone loves Mai and the Super Heroine team. But I’m a Leona main, and seeing her, Terry, and Joe back brought a big smile to my face since that’s my team of three. I’m very curious to learn about the new characters as well.
The art design looks fantastic as well. A lot of subtle design changes to the characters that build upon the sprite work we’ve grown to love over the years. With 39 characters and new battle techniques promised, this looks like it’ll be one of the largest King of Fighters ever. Now let’s just hope the online has rollback netcode!
