The Sonic the Hedgehog movie remains a surprise hit for many. After its first trailer debuted you could count on no hands the amount of people who thought it’d turn out okay, but after a delay, and a visual shake up thanks to Tyson Hesse, the movie found its footing. A sequel, naturally titled Sonic the Hedgehog 2, was very quickly greenlit.
Since the sequel’s announcement, we haven’t seen anything revealed officially, but one thing was clear, Knuckles would be in it, photos of his model on set said as much. The mystery that remained was his voice, a popular theory was that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson would fill the role but that thanks to today’s teaser we now know who will voice our favorite red echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
An image featuring a render of Knuckles’ iconic fist was post on to Twitter, which is a surprise already, but it wasn’t via the movie account like many would assume. Instead, it was Idris Elba who posted the image, all but confirming his role as Knuckles in the upcoming movie.
But who is Idris Elba? his most recent role was as Bloodsport in ‘The Suicide Squad,’ but he’s also had roles in the MCU as Heimdall. He also does some music on the side so if we can get a rendition of Unknown from M.E. then I’ll be happy.
