Happy Monday, everyone! It’s the start of another new week, which means we have even more new releases to look forward to. Whether you want to live your football fantasies in Madden NFL 23 or you have an appetite for a cute adventure with Kirby, there’s something for you. So, let’s not waste anymore time as we dive into this week’s upcoming games.

Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince (August 16)

Starting things off this week, we have Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince. Developed by Castle Pixel and published by Playtonic Friends, this old-school Zelda-like adventure sets you in a charming choice-driven narrative that takes you through dozens of dungeons. As an adventurer named Lily, you’ll dive through the mystical adventure narrated as a bedtime story told by a grandfather to his grandchildren.

The retro pixel graphics and 2D grid layout pay homage to early Legend of Zelda games. While the unique dungeons and bosses across the main story give this game an identity of its own. You can start your adventure in Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince tomorrow on Nintendo Switch and PC.

Rollerdome (August 16)

Rolling out into your home next is Rollerdome. Developed by Roll7 and published by Private Division, this action-packed sports game puts you in the skates of a competitor in the intense Rollerdome competition. The goal of each competitor is to combine roller-skate tricks with violent eliminations to rise up the ranks and ultimately, stay alive.

The ultra-violent and fast-paced game places you into different arenas where everything wants to kill you. The beautiful animated art-style, combined with the addictive gameplay that sees you pull of high-flying stunts and stylistic executions makes this a game hard to put down. You can enter the bloodsport of Rollerdome tomorrow when it launches for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Kirby’s Dream Buffet (August 17)

Then, HAL Laboratory and Nintendo bring us the next cute adventure for Kirby. In Kirby’s Dream Buffet, you and your friends can compete in a platforming race to see who can eat the most food. With food-themed obstacle courses and fast-paced multiplayer fun, this game is bound to be a great party title to play with your friends.

The game puts a modern spin on the classic Kirby Super Star minigame Gourmet Race. In the game, you and three friends take control of Kirby and race to complete each obstacle course while eating as much as possible. Kriby’s Dream Buffet launches for Nintendo Switch on August 17.

Cursed to Golf (August 18)

Have you ever wondered what a rougelike golf game would look like? Well, then wonder no more because you can find out for yourself in Cursed to Golf. Developed by Chuhai Labs and published by Thunderful, this charming title places you in an epic adventure to escape Golf Purgatory.

Throughout the game, you’ll need to traverse 18 holes (dungeons) and clear four biomes with turn-based 2D golf. Golf Purgatory also offers up some more interesting obstacles than what you’d find at your local course, with fans, spikes, explosives and more. Step onto the course and escape the afterlife in Cursed to Golf on August 18 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

RPG Time: The Legend of Wright (August 18)

RPG Time: The Legend of Wright is a role-playing game that takes you through an adventure through beautiful sketchbook style hand-drawn visuals. Developed and published by the two-person team of Deskworks, the game’s narrative actually follows the journey of an aspiring game developer. Throughout the game, you’ll explore a series of adventures drawn in the developer’s notebook.

As you traverse the developer’s ideas, you’ll also do everything from fighting majestic beasts to finding hidden treasure. Previously, the game launched in March for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, iOS and Android. Now, Nintendo Switch players can begin their journey in RPG Time: The Legend of Wright on August 18.

Thymesia (August 18)

If you love action RPGs with a dark fantasy atmosphere, you won’t want to sleep on Thymesia. Developed by OverBorder Studio and published by Team17, this game puts you in the role of the world’s deadliest plague doctor. As Corvus, players have the ability to turn diseases into weapons.

In addition, you’ll also have more traditional murder tools like scythes, swords and daggers. The game also offers up a unique tone, combining Souls-like aesthetics with fast-paced action reminiscent of Ninja Gaiden. You can play Thymesia on August 18 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

We Are OFK (August 18)

For those with rhythm in their spirits, check out We Are OFK. Developed and published by Team OFK, this musical adventure follows an indie-pop band through five narrative episodes. Throughout the game, you’ll play through interactive music videos and make dialog and text-based choices that affect your band members’ relationships.

Along with the game’s vibrant music and voice cast, the accompanying animated visuals also provide a bright atmosphere. In addition, OFK’s debut pop EP will launch alongside the accompanying game. You can begin your musical adventure on August 18 when We Are OFK launches for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Madden NFL 23 (August 19)

Finally, rounding out this week’s upcoming games is the next installment in the Madden franchise. In Madden NFL 23, EA’s staple football franchise returns with everything fans love in the series. Although the Madden series often receives criticism for each new installment feeling like a roster update, EA Sports says it implemented new features to address series issues.

One new feature to make the new installment stand out is the next-gen exclusive FieldSense mechanics. The new gameplay system gives players more control on the field of their team with fluid movements, instead of pre-determined animations. You can step onto the field in Madden NFL 23 on August 19 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
