Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 main theme is now on Spotify
With great power, comes even greater... music!
This morning, Insomniac Games shared on Twitter that the main theme for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is now on Spotify.
The theme first premiered over the weekend at the Game Awards 10-Year Concert. At the event, attendees got to listen to a full orchestra performing famous gaming soundtracks from titles like The Last of Us and God of War. In addition, composer John Paesano’s original score “Greater Together” from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 debuted with a larger than life visual laser performance accompanying it.
Following the performance, Insomniac teased the theme would soon debut on Spotify. Well, now the wait is over. You can get a preview of “Greater Together” below and listen to the full theme on Spotify.
The musical score channels that of the original game, blending Peter Parker’s 2018 theme into some more hip-hop style music to symbolize Miles Morales. Putting the two themes together further symbolizes the game’s emphasis on unity between both Spider-Men in the game. Closing out the theme on a chilling note, the music gets darker, likely symbolizing the Venom Symbiote’s entrance in the game and corruption on the heroes.
