Metacritic releases rankings of game publishers for 2014
Metacritic has revealed their 5th annual game publisher rankings to the public. They split the publishers into two separately ranked groups, based on the numbers of games they have released last year.
Because SEGA only published between 6- 13 unique titles in 2014, they were listed under the mid-size publishers. They are ranked according to the exact same methodology Metacritic used to rank the larger publishers, “earning points for average Metascore, % of releases that earn positive or negative reviews, and the total number of great games.”
SEGA has been ranked at number 5 this year, beating out other notable publishers like Konami, Warner Bros. Interactive, Koei Tecmo, and Zen Studios. SEGA also ranked the highest average Metascore among PC game publishers. Way to go, SEGA!
