Well, I’m shocked this didn’t happen sooner. After a couple of months since release, a fan modder is working on adding Leon as a playable character in Resident Evil Village instead of protagonist Ethan Winters. Twitter user JTeghius Kittius or @JTegh showed off her work in progress in a tweet that showcases her using the model from Dead By Daylight for the game. You can check out the tweet below.
As seen in the thread, she also posted a video that shows the model in the mercenaries’ third-person mode, but be careful watching that because it does spoil the final boss. JTegh did not give a release date for the mod yet as it is still a work in progress, but we will update when a release date is confirmed.
It’s cool to see the modding community having fun with Resident Evil’s new releases. The mods so far for Village have ranged from wild to… well most have made it clear how they feel about Lady Dimitrescu so you can guess. That said, it still doesn’t beat my favorite mod for the series all-time. That crown goes to Resident Evil 2 Remake in whoever was the genius that replaced Mr. X with Thomas The Tank engine. That will never cease to knock me out of my chair laughing.
Resident Evil Village is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
