Mutant Football League pre-alpha footage released

By all intents and purposes, Mutant Football League’s Kickstarter campaign was a disappointment, having raised only around $141,000 of its $750,000 goal. But hey, lots of interesting retro Kickstarter campaigns with SEGA ties failed, and failed and failed again in the past few years.

Despite the Kickstarter’s failure, series creator Michael Mendheim and his team never quit working on the spiritual successor to the series, and they’ve just released this pre-alpha footage of the game, which is planned to be released in Q4 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and mobile.

It’s really great to see the development continue because I was a huge fan of the original Mutant League series on the Genesis. I still maintain that no one can beat me at Mutant League Hockey! But, back to the point, the game certainly looks to be shaping up, despite the obviousness that it’s still early in development. The gameplay could certainly use a bit of a speed boost as the players look to be moving too slow for my liking, but I’m sure that will all be rectified in the final build.

The good news here is that here’s proof the game isn’t dead and is actually progressing!
