New 2D platformer Mago: The Villain’s Burger launches Feb. 7
This game has it all: magic, robots and evil food!
Fans of retro 2D platformers have something new to be excited for. HypeTrain Digital’s new project Mago: The Villain’s Burger comes to PC on Feb. 7.
This nostalgic, food-themed platformer follows the heroic journey of a sorcerer on a quest to save his princess from the evil Gourmet’s dinner menu. Along the way, you’ll travel through a vast world with many levels, mini-games and secret locations.
Each unique area features its own mechanics and challenges with a beautifully retro pixel art style. If the visuals aren’t enough to fill you with nostalgia, the music will make up the difference. Mago: The Villain’s Burger features a soundtrack, heavily inspired by the golden age of gaming.
In addition, you get a powerful magic wand that’s helpful for both combat and puzzles. Whether you’re wiping out evil enemies or solving riddles, the wand is your most valuable asset. That is, of course, until you get to make use of the imposing mecha robot to blast through enemies.
Speaking of enemies, Mago: The Villain’s Burger offers a variety of unique foes and bosses. Each level has its own challenging boss fight to overcome. But don’t worry. Throughout each level, you’ll also collect secret orbs that allow you to upgrade your abilities and unlock new items.
If you want a break from all the magical and mechanical action, you can relax in the town of Musicalia. There, you can purchase upgrades and talk to a variety of NPCs.
You can add Mago: The Villain’s Burger to your Steam wishlist now! The game officially launches for free on Feb. 7.
