New Samsung TVs to support cloud gaming and NFTs
"An easier way for people to enjoy the games they love, faster"
The new 2022 Samsung Neo QLED televisions announced can support cloud gaming and enable owners to purchase, display, and “trade” NFTs directly from their TVs. All in hopes to attract the gaming community and follow the creeping trend of NFTs attached to everything digital entertainment.
As far as cloud gaming goes, the only libraries announced will be from Stadia, GeForce Now, and Utomik. Samsung has stated there will be “more to come,” with players able to connect compatible controllers to jump into games.
Furthermore, The Gaming Hub on the TVs will combine all gaming content, from YouTube videos to nearby connected consoles:
“We developed the Samsung Gaming Hub with our incredible content partners to benefit all gamers, and we plan to continue our collaboration to grow the ecosystem.”
Samsung Electronics president, Won-Jin Lee
Samsung TVs won’t have Xbox Game Pass?
As of writing, we’re in the dark about the whereabouts of the Xbox Game Pass for Samsung TVs. However, Microsoft has stated they were looking to add Xbox functionality to TVs in the future. Whether Samsung is the proper partner for the Xbox Game Pass is uncertain without proof that Stadia, GeForce Now, and Utomik are consistent on TVs. Time will tell.
