ATLUS West premiered a new trailer Aug. 11 on their YouTube channel for their upcoming game Shin Megami Tensei V.
The new trailer gives players a look at Bethel, a special organization in Shin Megami Tensei V that fights against demons. This trailer also provides further insight on the story of the new game. It explains how the hero ends up in the situation and why he must fight. The trailer also shows the hero both before and after he’s fused with a demon to become the Nahobino.
What is Shin Megami Tensei V?
As announced at the E3 Nintendo Switch Direct event, Shin Megami Tensei V is set to release worldwide on Nov. 12 exclusively on Nintendo Switch. The Bethel trailer is the fourth trailer released by Official ATLUS West. In the announcement trailer premiered on July 20, 2020, ATLUS stated that their new game would have a simultaneous global launch. However, fans in Japan will receive the game one day earlier.
In addition, fans in Japan will also have the opportunity to purchase a limited edition of the game. The limited edition has been dubbed the “Forbidden Nahobino Box.” In addition to the game, this version will also contain a special case, a demon compendium, a soundtrack and a Nahobino t-shirt.
Shin Megami Tensei V sees players take control of a high school student, living in Tokyo, who one day ends up in an apocalyptic world known as Da’at. When he arrives, he merges with the demon Aogami to become an entity that is neither demon nor human, known as the Nahobino. As the Nahobino, the player is sent on a journey where they must tow the line between good and evil as a battle between gods and demons is fought to decide the fate of the world.
Players itching to play Shin Megami Tensei before November are in luck. In May, ATLUS released a remastered version of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. This game is available to play on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. You can read a review of it here.
