About Final Fantasy XIV
Although Final Fantasy XIV suffered a rocky launch in 2010, the RPG exponentially rose in popularity in the last year alone. In fact, as of October 2021, the game boasted 24 million worldwide players and became the highest selling Final Fantasy in history. In addition, the astonishing spike in popularity only grew with the recent launch of the Endwalker expansion pack.
After congestion led to Square Enix temporarily pulling the game from stores, Final Fantasy XIV finally returned to sale in January. Additionally, the developers suggest that they have no plans of slowing down the uptick in new content. The team recently revealed that there’s a whole new area players haven’t been able to explore yet.
While it’s unclear when the next major expansion for Final Fantasy XIV will release, Patch 6.1 should tide players over. The update officially goes live on April 12.
