Next-gen Resident Evil upgrades let you keep your old saves
Return to the nightmare on next-gen right where you left off.
Two weeks ago, Capcom announced that three Resident Evil games will relaunch on next-gen consoles with visual enhancements. Now, the company adds that the new versions of RE 2, 3 and 7 will allow you to keep your saved data.
In addition, Capcom adds in its post that DLC from Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition will also transfer over. It’s worth noting, however, that to keep your saved data, the upgrade must remain in the same console family. In other words, the feature won’t apply if you switch from Xbox One to PlayStation 5.
About the next-gen Resident Evil upgrades
The remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, as well as Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will feature a number of improvements to enhance the games. All three titles will receive higher framerates, ray tracing and 3D audio. In addition, gamers on PS5 can enjoy updates that utilize the controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Best of all, the next-gen upgrades are free to players who currently own the games on the previous consoles.
PC gamers will also receive a major update to the three games as well. At no cost, the PC versions will receive the same visual enhancements as their console counterparts. While there is no specific release date, the upgraded Resident Evil games will be available sometime this year.
The visually enhanced Resident Evil games will be available later this year for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Are you excited to re-experience these three horrors on next-gen consoles? Let us know below!
