Ok, Sonic, buddy. What’s going on lately? You had a successful movie and a highly anticipated game coming up. We can’t see your ugly counterpart again. And we definitely can’t be reminded that… Sonic 06 exists in your history. But yet, here we are.
For some reason, Sonic 06 has returned to the Xbox Marketplace. The game was removed from the digital storefront back in 2010 for no given reason. But it’s back now, and at the discounted price of $5! That’s still too much to pay for it, but hey! The game does have its fans (I don’t know how). The relisting was caught by Sonic Stadium, who gave more details in a tweet below.
My biggest question is, why now? Why bring Sonic 06 back when the brand is riding a high it hasn’t seen in years? This game doesn’t help people think the series is good. It has the exact opposite effect. It’s the video game equivalent of The Room for Pete’s sake!
The positive here is that it is still only available on the Xbox 360. Therefore, it is not on the Xbox One or Xbox Series systems like other 360 games. But, I have to think there’s no way this would get the performance enhancement like Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations did, right? I feel like 06 getting a performance boost of any kind would cause the game to crash on booting up.
