Persona 4 Arena Ultimax rumored to be getting a remaster
Fans of Developer Atlus and the Persona franchise might have a new reason to smile. A remake of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is reportedly in the works. An insider known as Zippo, who has been a reliable source of information, posted recently about the possible remake.
Keep in mind, this is still a rumor and unconfirmed by Atlus, to date.
Zippo’s post indicated that while they don’t know if there will be new content, the remaster will be coming to modern platforms. Which platform and when the expected release date is still unknown, too.
Co-developed by Atlus and Arc System Works and released in 2014 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, Arena Ultimax sold over 280,000 copies worldwide. A direct sequel to Persona 4 Arena, Arena Ultimax plays out as a gorgeous visual novel fighter game. It includes characters from both Persona 3 and Persona 4, and intended as a closure for the Arena storyline. It later gained DLCs that expanded the roster.
Considering its critical and fan success, it should come as no surprise that Arena Ultimax is up for a remaster. Atlus teased on their Persona site just a few days prior to Zippo’s post, that announcements are expected to kick off in September 2021 and continue throughout 2022. New projects are reportedly in the offing. What better way to begin the fun than with a remaster?
As a fan of the entire franchise, I am really looking forward to what they have in store for us!
How about you? Does the rumor spark your interest? Which of the Persona games would you like to see on current generation consoles?
