Vigilante 8 was a popular vehicle combat game from the late 1990s. It takes place in an alternate version of America in the 1970s. Sid Burn and his Coyotes aim to get rid of all the oil companies in the United States and become the richest company in America. That sounds about as American as apple pie, if I’d say so myself.
Back in March, we reported on Pixel Heart discovering boxes of sealed, new Dreamcast games. They ranged from Virtua Fighter 3TB to Soul Calibur and Jet Set Radio. Since then, Pixel Heart has released a new batch of these games every couple of weeks or so. Earlier last week, they released their next game: Vigilante 8: Second Offense.
It’s a sequel to the 1998 title, and featured improved graphics, physics, and gameplay. Vigilante 8: Second Offense includes 18 vehicles and 8 destructible arenas. Up to 4 players can join in on the demolition. Although Twisted Metal ultimately won that war of vehicle combat games, Vigilante 8 definitely holds a special place in my heart.
Pixel Heart is selling Second Offense for 32,90€ or roughly $39. There are only 83 copies left in stock, so once they’re gone, they are gone for good. You can purchase your own copy here.
