PlatinumGames' Vanquish getting remastered on Xbox One
Can we get a MadWorld remaster next, please?!
PlatinumGames’ excellent sci-fi action shooter Vanquish was finally ported over to PC a couple years ago, much to the joy of many SEGA fans across the world.
The PC release brought with it new features and enhancements, like 4K resolution, which was a huge improvement over the original release’s 720p resolution when it released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Oct. 19, 2010.
However, according to a new product listing for Vanquish on the Microsoft Store, it looks like console owners, well Xbox One owners at least, will finally have the chance to experience Vanquish in 4K glory on Feb. 18, 2020.
Specifically, the page notes that the Xbox One X will run the game at 4K at 60FPS, and we surmise the standard Xbox One will run it at 1080p.
DESCRIPTION
The hit sci-fi shooter returns. An overpopulated Earth suffocating under limited resources looks to Providence, the solar-powered space colony for support. When Providence is suddenly taken over by a mutinous group and its technology used to devastate cities, it’s up to a specially trained unit of space marines to reclaim the colony.
Equipped with BLADE, the experimental weapon system that can scan, copy, and save up to three existing weapons, space DARPA agent Sam Gideon must infiltrate Providence, defeat legions of future-tech foes, and disable the energy transmitter threatening life on Earth.
We hope this paves the way for more SEGA published PlatinumGames remasters, like MadWorld. There’s no word yet on if Vanquish will be published on the PlayStation 4.
