On Tuesday, Minecraft’s Sonic DLC got a free update that adds a new zone, movie skins and more!
Everyone who owns the Sonic the Hedgehog DLC for Minecraft can now explore the Labyrinth Zone and use character skins from the new movie Sonic the Hedgehog 2. In addition, players also receive a new Master Mode as well. Minecraft Marketplace also took to Twitter to announce the new update.
The Sonic DLC for Minecraft originally arrived last year as part of the Blue Blur’s 30th anniversary celebration. However, if you haven’t picked the DLC up yet, you can do so on Minecraft’s Marketplace for 1340 Minecoins. You can also read the official description for the DLC below.

The original Sonic DLC added locations like the Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant to Mojang’s blocky universe. In addition, players can navigate obstacles and defeat bosses to collect rings. Now, the new update also brings additional content to this lovable collaboration.

The DLC update for Minecraft is also part of an ongoing marketing campaign to hype fans up for the new film. Aside from including new skins from the movie, the update also includes the Labyrinth Zone, which we know features heavily in the movie.
Apart from the Minecraft update, SEGA also found other unique ways to promote the Blue Blur’s second feature. Along with limited edition fuzzy Xbox controllers, SEGA also partnered with General Mills on a new cereal.
