Resident Evil: The Board Game drops trailer and delivers Halloween chills

The Halloween (Resident Evil) gods have chosen to smile upon us mere gamers once again! In addition to the recently dropped trailer for the live-action adaptation, Resident Evil 4 VR for Oculus Quest, and franchise-wide discounts across multiple platforms, fans of the gore-fest are getting…zombie groan, please…a board game!

That’s right, folks. We can now enjoy the weird, supernatural horror world of Resident Evil as we have never seen it before. Steamforged has once again teamed up with Capcom to deliver a board game based on the one that started it all. Quick on the heels of Resident Evil 3s successful campaign and just weeks before its official launch, Resident Evil: The Board Game will start its own Kickstarter campaign on October 26. Backers for this campaign will get exclusive box art, among other unannounced perks!

What horror await us? Who knows, but the art sure is cool!

The Manchester, UK company has several titles under its belt, including the first Resident Evil board game based on the 2nd video game. The expansive catalogue also has selections from Monster Hunter, Horizon Zero Dawn, Sonic and Peaky Blinders. Each game ranges in price, starting at around $10 to $125 USD.

Gameplay footage shows players teaming up as Jill, Barry, Chris and Rebecca. Join them as they explore the traps, trips and terrors of the Spencer mansion. There is danger lurking behind every corner. It is up to each team member to survive the night. Can you save the others you cross paths with still locked inside the zombie-infested house? You must manage your own fear levels as well, if you want to successfully complete your missions. Will you make it out alive or fall as another victim to the hungry hordes?

A spooky and atmospheric trailer was released along with the announcement. If it doesn’t give you chills… well what’s wrong with you?! Check it out and let us know who you would choose as your champion!
