The latest update on the Rockstar Games Launcher gives further evidence to the rumors of a Grand Theft Auto remastered trilogy.
Twitter user @videotech_ looked at the back end of the latest Rockstar Games Launcher update. Within the update, he found slots for Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas. He adds that before Red Dead Redemption 2 released on PC, Rockstar added a slot for that game in the Launcher. He had the idea to also check for the GTA remasters after he discovered the most recent Launcher update.
In addition, GTA Forums users alloc8or and Razed- discovered the logos for the games and their respective achievements. Twitter account GTANet shared the discovery of the leaked logos for the remasters. Based on these logos, it appears as though each of the games are titled as “The Definitive Edition.”
Even with all the attention surrounding the remastered Grand Theft Auto trilogy, Rockstar Games remains silent. In August, a report by Kotaku regarding the remasters suggested that the rumors are true. In their article, they also mentioned how the games will likely run on Unreal Engine. The Rockstar Launcher leak appears to back this claim up.
Another video game leaker, Tom Henderson, also added to the rumors. He mentioned in August that the games will likely release next year, according to his sources. Until Rockstar themselves confirm the existence of the GTA remasters, all of the information remains speculation. However, the Rockstar Launcher update and leaked logos point to these rumors becoming a reality before we know it.
