After various trailers announcing and displaying upcoming tactical role playing game Triangle Strategy and its gameplay, Square Enix has finally dropped a “character & story” trailer. Focusing on playable character Roland Glenbrook, the trailer highlights more of game’s main narrative.
Who is Roland Glenbrook?
Triangle Strategy takes place on the continent of Norzelia. Three countries are at the central focus of the “Saltiron War”, including Glenbrook, Aesfrost, and Hyzante. Roland Glenbrook, son of King Regna, is one of the princes of the Glenbrook Kingdom. King Gustadolph, archduke of Grand Duchy of Aesfrost, usurps the Glenbrook Kingdom. After this, Roland follows childhood friend and protagonist, Serenoa Wolffort, to save his people.
Throughout the trailer, Roland can be seen speaking with his father, King Regna, Maxwell Trier, a protector of the Glenbrook family, and various other characters throughout his journey. As a playable character, the trailer features Roland wielding a spear as he rides into battle. With high mobility rushing skills and spear thrusts, Roland’s character certainly packs a good hit.
The game features multiple endings, as the player can alter the course of the game. Teased with the #1 above Roland’s name, the trailer suggests there will be more narrative-focused videos to come. Likely, the next one may be about protagonist Serenoa Wolffort, or Federica Aesfrost, King Gustadolph’s daughter and Serenoa’s fiancée.
When does Triangle Strategy release?
Triangle Strategy has a current release date set for March 4, 2022 for Nintendo Switch and can be pre-ordered before it releases next spring. Reflecting Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics gameplay, a demo for the game came out on February 17, 2021. As a huge fan of both of those games I’ve been eagerly following along with Triangle Strategy updates and can’t wait to hear more about the story. The game’s full version continues to look rather interesting with more information given by Roland Glenbrook’s “character & story” trailer.
