(RUMOR) Klonoa 1&2 could be remastered very soon
Remakes and remasters are all the rage right now. But instead of it being last-generation games, studios are now looking at the fifth and sixth generation of consoles for candidates. And a new batch of trademarks from Bandai Namco seems to hint they are as well by bringing back the Klonoa franchise!
New trademarks have been discovered in Japan for Wahoo Encore and 1&2 Encore. “Wahoo” is Klonoa’s catchphrase, and 1&2 seem to hint the remaster will be of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil. These trademarks would back up another one Bandai Namco made in 2019 of Klonoa Encore. They trademarked that along with Mr. Driller Encore, which eventually became Mr. Driller DrillLand. So all signs point to a return of Klonoa very soon.
What is Klonoa?
It will be fantastic to see a new generation of platform gaming fans try out Klonoa if this is real. Door to Phantomile is one of the most underappreciated games I’ve played on the PlayStation 1. It has fantastic platforming with an interesting grab mechanic that gives the game a distinct feel from other platform games at the time. And don’t go search for the ending before you dive into the game. It’s still one of the wildest I’ve seen in a platform game ever.
Hopefully, Bandai Namco doesn’t make gamers wait long to see the return of the dream traveler onto a new generation! It seems all but likely at this point that a remaster is coming. We’ll have more details here on MegaVisions when they are available.
