Rumor: Persona 6 will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5
According to the latest rumors, Persona 6 will be announced later this year as a PS5 exclusive..
If the word going around the Internet is true, Persona 6 might be on the way as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. The heavily-anticipated sequel to the mega-hit Persona 5, this game has been rumored to be happening for a while. The latest leaks suggest that an announcement might be on the horizon.
The rumor comes from YouTuber Nate the Hate in the latest episode of his podcast where he and co-host Modern Vintage Gamer discuss upcoming games in 2022. He mentioned Persona 6 and how the title may be launching for the PS5 (perhaps with crossplay for the PS4).
As always with rumors like this, it’s important to take them with a grain of salt. Atlus hasn’t officially announced Persona 6 for any console yet, so we should view this information at face value. Considering the Persona series is celebrating its 25th anniversary, however, the timing would be perfect to announce a project like this.
Is Persona 6 coming exclusively to PlayStation 5?
These latest rumors suggest that Persona 6 will be announced soon as part of the series’ 25th anniversary celebration. Since Persona 5 is turning five this year, assuming this is true, it couldn’t come at a better time.
Given the Steam port of Persona 4 Golden, you might not expect Atlus to restrict Persona 6 to one console. But the Persona series has always had strong ties to Sony consoles, with the majority not yet launched outside the PlayStation line. That could lend credence to the game’s rumored PlayStation 5 exclusivity. Until Atlus officially confirms the game, however, this is all speculation.
