Is there a new Sonic the Hedgehog game coming out if there aren’t leaks? There’s already been a good amount surrounding Sonic Frontiers. For example, plot details and gameplay elements have already been speculated about Sonic’s next adventure. But now we might have a release date as well.
According to the Twitter account PlayStation Game Size, the PlayStation Store database has Nov. 15, 2022 as the release date. You can check out the Tweet below.
Sonic Frontiers placeholder?
Now, as they say in the tweet, this could very well be a placeholder date for Sonic Frontiers. For example, it is common for digital storefronts to use placeholder dates for upcoming games. This is so they can put in metadata for the game as more info is revealed. It includes pre-order data, screenshots, trailers, and plot details SEGA decides to unveil before release.
That said, the placeholder is usually a good indicator of what month the game is coming. If it is a placeholder, storefronts put it within the same month when the publisher is tracking to release the game. November would line up with the holiday 2022 window SEGA has put in all the marketing for Sonic Frontiers. Even if it’s not Nov. 15, it’s a good guess it’ll come in November.
