SEGA and Paramount announce third Sonic movie and Knuckles TV series
If you are excited to see the second Sonic The Hedgehog movie, I have some great news! No, not that the film is out early. But it seems SEGA and Paramount are very confident that the film will be a hit. Why is that? Today, both companies announced that a third film is already in the works.
Along with that, they also announced a series solely focused on Knuckles that will air exclusively on Paramount Plus! You can check out both announcement tweets below from SEGA and Paramount.
Sonic the Movie 3 … and Knuckles!
A third movie seemed inevitable given the success of the first film and the hype around the second. The Knuckles TV series with Idris Elba returning is a big shock to me. It’s going to be interesting to see how they utilize the show to potentially delve into his history. Or they could use it to explain the history of the chaos and master emeralds or even the Echidna race! Come to think of it?
Could this series set up the third movie? If you explain the history of Knuckles protecting the master emerald, Tikal has to show up right? And if Tikal shows up, that could mean Sonic The Hedgehog 3 could very well be the movie adaptation of Sonic Adventure? Is this wishful thinking on my part? Maybe? But it would make sense don’t you think?
Sonic The Hedgehog 2, which will also debut Knuckles in live-action, releases on April 8. Are you excited to see what a third movie and spin-off series can bring to the franchise? Let us know below!
