Today is the day for the official 2014 SEGA Cup tournament for Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown.
Released digitally in the summer of 2012 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is the latest home version of Virtua Fighter 5 in SEGA’s high quality arcade fighting game franchise. Surprisingly, the PlayStation 3 release is the edition used for this current event, not an arcade variation.
Participants can win cash prizes, totaling a sum of $15,000. This ventured partnership between SEGA, Alex Valle and Level|Up is currently hosted at the Super Arcade in Walnut, Calif.
The one-day tournament concludes tonight at 10 p.m. PST, but the Top 8 Finals begin at 8 p.m. More information can be found on the official site.
