SEGA is “very interested” in bringing Atlus games to Europe
Earlier last month, NIS America announced that it would stop releasing games from Atlus in Europe. NIS America president and CEO Takuro Yamashita stated that it had become increasingly difficult to work with Atlus since SEGA recently purchased them. This was of course unfortunate for European fans since NIS America helped distribute the Atlus games.
Fortunately, SEGA of Europe SVP of commercial publishing John Clark stated that the blue brand is “very interested” in bringing Atlus games back to Europe.
“We’re very interested in bringing all of the group’s Japanese content not just to the West, but to Europe in particular…We are always trying to find a way. And that’s an on-going process. That’s something we are continually assessing and talking to and if there are really strong opportunities to support the Japanese content in Europe, we’ll do it.”
It’s great to hear that there’s hopes for Atlus games coming back to Europe. Hopefully this means our European friends will be getting Persona 5 this year.
