SEGA Master System Brawl lets 8-bit characters battle it out

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Gee, I wonder who would win in a fight – Mick from Ghost House or Wang from Kung Fu Kid?”

You better watch out, Tom-Tom! Psycho Fox can transform into multiple different animals!

Yeah, me either, but now you don’t have to because there’s a video game to finally put that age old question to rest! SEGA Master System Brawl is a homebrew Genesis/Mega Drive title that pits 16 iconic Master System characters against each other in a one-one-one fight to determine who reigns supreme.

The game is developed by Bonaf and can currently be downloaded here for free. Mind you, it’s still not complete, but it’s made some great progress as Bonaf just released the latest build a few days ago, which featured the addition of Dr. Social from Master of Darkness, as well as a Master of Darkness stage. There’s also better collision detecting and a new stat screen when played in two-player mode.

Bonaf has said he’d like to include as many SEGA characters as possible, but right now, we know there will be Alex Kidd, Joe Musashi, Tom-Tom, Opa-Opa, Psycho Fox and Steve from My Hero. While not yet added, Bonaf has said he hopes to add Sonic the Hedgehog, JJ from Zillion and Dynamite Dux.
